Deirdre Brennan

Boston native Deirdre Brennan is a seasoned reporter, editor, and publisher. She currently serves as publisher of Crux, where she oversees business strategy, operations, and audience development, and works closely with the editorial team to support independent journalism.
Previously, she served as CEO of the Catholic Herald. Before that, she founded and led FINalternatives, a financial news site covering hedge funds, alternative investments, and global markets, which she later sold.
Deirdre has more than 20 years of experience in the media industry, with roles in New York and London, and is now based in Copenhagen. She holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs from Columbia University and a BA in English and Journalism from Pepperdine University.
